The European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ECCMID) will hold its 28th edition in IFEMA, in the North Convention Center and in halls 8, 9 and 10, from 21st to 24th of April 2018. The meeting will gather 12,000 professionals from 130 countries, and aims to promote research in the different disciplines of infectology, generate knowledge exchange, and encourage opinión sharing among government authorities, scientific societies, universities and the community. All this will take place in a networking-friendly environment, complementing the scientific program with a large exhibition of diagnostic and therapeutic products, in which the world’s leading experts will meet to present, share and analyse the latest in infectious diseases, infection control and clinical microbiology.
The congress will offer an extensive training program with more than 200 sessions covering all the field of infectious diseases and clinical microbiology, including 12 lectures, more than 100 symposiums and oral sessions, approximately 20 educational workshops and 20 expert sessions. Highlights include lectures that will include presentations by the Nobel Prize on immunology and a conference on the Spanish influenza pandemic on its 100th anniversary.
