The 27th International Congress of the Transplant Society (TTS) will host from June 30th to July 5th the most important meeting in the world in the field of transplants. The main theme of the congress is “Outcome Driven”, in which the Spanish Transplant Society, the Madrid Transplant Society and the Transplant Society participate. More than 3,000 professionals from 80 countries will participate in a program designed to highlight the opportunities for active work that cover the latest developments in transplant science, clinical practices, ethics and public policies. In addition, the program will feature expert sessions that will address issues such as organ donation, the transformation of big data in medicine and transplantation, or future developments in transplants: from immunotherapy to tissue engineering.
The election of Madrid for the Congress is especially relevant due to the relevance of Spain that had held for 26 years the world leadership in the field of transplants. According to the data presented by the National Transplant Organization (ONT): in 2017 there were 5,259 transplants (a rate of 113 per million population), with a forecast of over 5,000 by 2020.
The largest meeting in the world in the field of transplants will bring together more than 3,000 specialist professionals from 80 countries
