IFEMA will kick off its activity after the summer break with the foremost congress dedicated to clinical nutrition and metabolism, the ESPEN Congress. This international event will bring together professionals from around the world from September 1st to 4th.
With the slogan, “Nutrition without Borders”, this congress will celebrate its 40th anniversary, declaring its interest in exploring new areas of clinical nutrition and learning about and debating on this vanguard area of science. Its aims are to create new synergies and reinforce existing ones amongst the 4,000 delegates participating from nearly 100 countries, including doctors, researchers, nurses, students and industry representatives.
Organised by Europe’s largest clinical nutrition association, ESPEN, the congress includes a scientific and educational programme designed to improve nutritional care and training. Worth noting are the Cuthbertson and Wretlind lectures and the ESPEN Fellowships Symposium, in addition to 7 sessions dedicated to public speaking and 18 scientific symposia.
Spain has hosted this congress on three previous occasions, twice in Barcelona (1987 and 2012) and once in Madrid (2000). The congress’ 2018 edition at IFEMA will represent the fourth time, with Madrid hosting this key nutritional event once more.
This congress will serve to explore new areas in the nutrition field and expand existing knowledge thanks to its scientific and educational programme.
