The 26th edition of the International Contemporary Art Fair, Estampa, will take place at IFEMA between 18 and 21 October, and will feature 74 contemporary art galleries and five institutional projects, with nearly a thousand national and international artists.
The event will have two programmes: the General and the Curators’ programme. In the first of these, galleries and projects like Juana de Aizpuru (Madrid), Carreras Múgica (Bilbao) or Moisés Pérez de Albéniz (Madrid, among others) will be taking part. The second of these, the programme curated by Guillermo Espinosa, will involve galleries and artists who are willing to make a break with the unity of thought and linearity of exhibitions in a project entitled Contraindications.
Estampa will also be having Ángela de la Cruz, National Award for Visual Arts 2017, as guest artist, who will be showing paintings produced specifically for the fair. At the same time, the Project “A Suspicious Truth” is presented, which proposes a questioning approach to the mechanisms that produce the truth, to then propose possible leak points that question what we actually consider to be legitimate, induced or established discourse; as well as the International Artist in Residence Project, which will present awards to four selected artists to participate in these projects in North Africa, Northern Europe and the Mediterranean.
