MULAFEST, the Festival of Urban Trends, organised by MULA and IFEMA, will hold its 9th edition from April 26th to 28th at Feria de Madrid. This year, MULAFEST has moved its dates forward, making it the first festival to be held in Madrid in 2019.

Another novel feature of this year’s MULAFEST is that it has joined forces with Mexico and, for the first time ever, will hold a special edition outside of Spain, concretely, in Acapulco from July 12th to 14th. Mexico will also be present in all the festival areas in Madrid for professionals and young talents to learn from each other.

MULAFEST will feature a special edition this year in Acapulco, Mexico, from July 12th to 14th

Committed to the latest trends and alternative culture, the festival comes back to IFEMA after a profound renewal of its content and image, thanks to Ricardo Cavolo, the artist in charge of creating the 2019 poster.

MULAFEST’s key activities include a special programming of GARAGE SOUND, the most important gathering for garage rock fans in Spain. In terms of vehicles, this year’s focus is on customisation and paying homage to artists such as the recently deceased, Ferry Clot.

As for the performing arts component, one of this edition’s new features is the voguing session, turning MULAFEST into a great party for different types of urban dance. In addition, MBreak Battle and the Allstyles Championship are back this year.

Underground art is also a key component, with well-known Spanish urban artists as well as the International Blipoint Photography Competition which will hold its second edition this year with the theme, “Frontiers”. Other activities include La Galería and the 6th edition of the National DGT Illustration Competition.

Last but not least, tattoo art is one of the festival’s key focuses and the Madrid Tattoo Convention one of its reference events.
