From June 4th to 6th, IFEMA will host QA’18, the International Testing & Quality Software Conference in Spain. A professional meeting whose program consists in lectures, master classes and workshops covering topics such as test automation, interpersonal skills, agile tests, test virtualization, security tests, DevOps and continuous tests, among many other activities. With speakers from around the world, the conference will have a day of hands-on workshops on June 4th and two days of talks with four tracks of professional presentations, plus a master class on June 5th and 6th, all dedicated to software testing and quality engineering.

After 20 days of effort and the attempt to reach the summit of Dhaulagiri, Carlos Soria and his team are already resting in the capital after returning on Saturday May 26 from Kathmandu. Upon his arrival at the Barajas Airport and excited, Carlos Soria commented the moment of the decision to desist in the attempt to climb to the top, but with the spirit and human quality that characterizes him, grateful for having lived such a wonderful experience and receiving the warm support from Spain during all the stages of the Expedition.
Everything went on as planned until arriving at camp III of the mountain, at 7,250 meters altitude, when the weather forecasts became more negative than expected. The team decided to suspend the summit attempt, at the risk of suffering for its own integrity. “We are a little sad for not having reached the top, but happy for having done everything as best as possible and serving as a reference to other expeditions that were also forced to desist,” commented Carlos Soria.

SPORT WOMAN is the first trade show for women, sports and health organized by the Women’s Race since 2014. The 32nd SALON DE GOURMETS, the international fair of qualitiy food and beverages, will open its doors from May 7th to 10th, gathering in halls 2, 4, 6 and 8 of IFEMA more than 40,000 products and 1,300 novelties by 1,600 companies. The meeting, which will receive more than 90,000 professionals from around the world, will generate a turnover (direct and indirect) of more than 205 million euros, making Madrid the world’s capital of high-end gastronomy.
As a great novelty, the Summit of Spain’s Sommeliers Champions will be held, in which the Spanish representative will be selected to participate in the ASI Sommelier World Championship, in addition to the 5th Spain Coffee Festival / Gourmets 2018, and the Gourmets Senses Workshop.

On 11th and 12th of May, IFEMA will host the fifth edition of GYM FACTORY, the Fitness and Sports Facilities Fair which is also the annual meeting place of professionals from this industry sector in Spain and Portugal. More than 60 companies will present their innovations in access control, sports floors, equipment, sports nutrition, changing rooms, training, sports medicine, saunas, technology and a multitude of essential items for sports centers. In addition, around 4,000 professionals will meet to generate new business contacts and business opportunities. As a preamble to the fair, the 2nd International Management Congress GYM Factory will be held on Thursday, May 10th. The event will also feature the Neurodigital Marketing Fitness Seminar by consultant Chano Jiménez, the Street Workout World Championship and the first Open Fitness Gym Factory organized by WABBA Spain.

In its third edition, IFEMA and the Municipal Chamber of Lisbon come together to celebrate from the 17th to the 20th of May, ARCOlisboa 2018, the great international contemporary art meeting in Portugal. This event will offer a dialogue between Portuguese art and interesting international proposals, in the special context provided by history, architecture and the light of the city.
Discovering new artists will be one of the attractions of the fair that grows in this edition with new galleries and new content. A total of 72 proposals from 14 countries will present their programs, among which you can admire the individual projects of artists who will occupy the Torreão Poente for the first time, and who will present the work of Portuguese and international artists, such as Esther Ferrer with Àngels Barcelona, José Carlos Martinat with Revolver or Mónica de Miranda with Carlos Carvalho.
