On April 27th and 28th, Feria de Madrid’s Hall 6 will host MANGADRID (“Manga Madrid”), the new event in the capital destined to become a key event for all those enamoured of Japanese culture.

MANGADRID aims to bring together the world of manga, anime, videogames and other elements of Japanese culture in one space. MANGADRID will feature a cosplay competition, manga and Japanese art workshops as well as other activities such as music and dance contests.


IFEMA will host the 9th edition of 100×100 MASCOTA, the Madrid Pet Fair, on April 27th and 28th. This must-see event brings together both animal lovers as well as professionals, leading industry brands and animal protection organisations. This year’s edition also includes participation by the Spanish Royal Canine Society (Real Sociedad Canina de España, RSCE).

The largest pet fair in Spain open to the public will allow visitors to enjoy a wide range of activities one more year. More than 27,000 visitors took part last year.

Worth noting amongst its scheduled activities include: the 91st International Spring Canine Show; the National “Special Spanish Breeds” Canine Show; the 29th Spanish Agility Competition; the 11th Spanish Obedience Cup; and other exhibits and competitions dedicated to specific breeds.

In addition, a new feature of this year’s edition is RSCE’s creation of the Latin Canine Alliance, designed to promote cooperation agreements between national canine associations in Spain, France, Italy and Portugal and to work together on issues of interest for the canine world.

For their part, participating companies and brands will showcase a wide offering of products and services for pets. Firms include grooming salons, pet rescue centres, animal hotels, breeders, trainers and training centres as well as official organisations and institutions.


MULAFEST, the Festival of Urban Trends, organised by MULA and IFEMA, will hold its 9th edition from April 26th to 28th at Feria de Madrid. This year, MULAFEST has moved its dates forward, making it the first festival to be held in Madrid in 2019.

Another novel feature of this year’s MULAFEST is that it has joined forces with Mexico and, for the first time ever, will hold a special edition outside of Spain, concretely, in Acapulco from July 12th to 14th. Mexico will also be present in all the festival areas in Madrid for professionals and young talents to learn from each other.

Committed to the latest trends and alternative culture, the festival comes back to IFEMA after a profound renewal of its content and image, thanks to Ricardo Cavolo, the artist in charge of creating the 2019 poster.

MULAFEST’s key activities include a special programming of GARAGE SOUND, the most important gathering for garage rock fans in Spain. In terms of vehicles, this year’s focus is on customisation and paying homage to artists such as the recently deceased, Ferry Clot.

As for the performing arts component, one of this edition’s new features is the voguing session, turning MULAFEST into a great party for different types of urban dance. In addition, MBreak Battle and the Allstyles Championship are back this year.

Underground art is also a key component, with well-known Spanish urban artists as well as the International Blipoint Photography Competition which will hold its second edition this year with the theme, “Frontiers”. Other activities include La Galería and the 6th edition of the National DGT Illustration Competition.

Last but not least, tattoo art is one of the festival’s key focuses and the Madrid Tattoo Convention one of its reference events.


On April 25th and 26th, Feria de Madrid will host EXPODEPOR, the Sports Fair of reference in Spain. Expodepor will spread over more than 15,000 square meters and is expected to attract more than 80,000 industry professionals and sports lovers.

Leading brands will take part in EXPODEPOR to present their latest products: from sports equipment to competitions and training programmes. In addition, the fair will also include a wide range of activities for visitors to test the products first-hand and learn about the different services.


The Feria Internacional del Juego, the International Gaming and Gambling Trade Show, will hold its 37th edition on April 9th and 10th, becoming, one more year, the key event for the industry in Spain and Europe, welcoming thousands of industry professionals.

SALÓN GOURMETS set gastronomic trends of the year

The largest showcase of gourmet products in Europe is coming to IFEMA with the 33rd edition of Salón Gourmets, the International Fine Food & Beverages Fair, to be held from April 8th to 11th. This fair has already consolidated itself as a true gastronomic event. This edition will include more than 2,000 exhibitors and showcase between 45,000 and 50,000 products. In addition, 100,000 industry professionals are expected to attend.

Feria de Madrid’s halls 4, 6, 8 and 10 (representing 70,000 m2 of exhibit space) will host a wide variety of activities in this edition which should be the fair’s most spectacular ever. The New Products Exhibition will also feature sauces with exotic combinations, oils with spectacular designs, in addition to wines, liqueurs and alcohol and non-alcohol drinks with unique bottles and compositions which are anything but conventional.

Salón Gourmets has thus become an international reference in the industry, setting the gastronomic trends for the year and a fair in which high-quality products and technological innovation are the stars.

On its 25th anniversary, Expofranquicia reaffirms its leadership

One more year, the key trade event for franchises in Spain is back: Expofranquicia, the International Franchising Trade Fair. This new edition is also its 25th anniversary, serving to reaffirm its leadership in an event organised by IFEMA in Hall 12 on the 4th and 5th of April.

A showcase of proposals and opportunities for all investment budgets

Every year, the International Franchising Trade Fair attracts more than 15,000 visitors and brings together more than 500 national and international brands. FITUR 2019, the most international edition

With more than 253,000 participants total, FITUR 2019 was the most international of all the editions held thus far. Worth noting is the 1.8% growth in professionals present. During the first three days of the event, there were 142,643 professional participants from around the world.
