On the weekend of September 29th and 30th, IFEMA will bring the essence of Japan to Spain’s capital. Through Japan Weekend Madrid, young and old alike can discover Japanese culture, entertainment and customs.
This new edition features numerous activities and entertainment with international guests such as the inimitable comedian, Pikotaro; Itsuka, one of Japan’s biggest hip-hop artists today; and Wasuta, one of Japan’s most important idol groups. Other visitors worth noting include Phi Phi O’hara, one of Japan’s most popular drag queens and cosplayer; Ando Mai, one of the most promising shôjo manga authors; and Joo Skellington, considered one of the best make-up artists in the film industry and an expert in Disney villains.
The weekend also includes workshops, videogame tournaments, board games, a basic introduction to the Japanese language, calligraphy and exhibits on different martial arts, amongst many other activities.
Some of the biggest talent in Japan has been invited to this event celebrating Japanese culture.
On September 28th to 30th, Salón Look, the leading professional trade fair in the beauty and hairdressing industry in Spain and a worldwide reference, will become the largest showcase on the Iberian Peninsula for the latest developments and trends in the industry, with more than 400 exhibitors and 1,300 national and international brands.
Salón Look will spread out over 3 halls (3, 5 and 7). Hall 3 will host the aesthetics, micro-pigmentation and natural cosmetics sectors; Hall 5 the nails and makeup sectors; and Hall 7 will group the entire hairdressing sector, including furniture and barbershops. In addition, there will be specific areas for different activities, such as the 11th Aesthetics Congress to be held on September 29th moderated by Consuelo Silveira; the Makeup Championships with two themes: “The Elegant 1940s” and “The Perfect Bride”; new interactive micro-pigmentation workshops focused on creating new business opportunities; the world’s most prestigious nail championship, Nailympion, with the following categories: “Hands-on” (with models), “Submitted Nail Art”, “Team Trophy” and “Student Division”; and the 1st International Eyelash Extension Championship.
For its part, the hairdressing sector will also be key, not only due to the significant presence of brands in the trade area but also with its programme of parallel top-order training programmes. On this occasion, Salón Look will host five dedicated short courses: the Bridal Frame Up-do master class by Cebado; Fashion Cuts and Up-dos by Pivot Point; Fade, taught by Grupo Passaró professionals; the Trend-hunting workshop; and the Barbershop with Charm Awards organised by The QHAIR. In addition, Salón Look will also host the prestigious ClubFígaro hairdressing awards.
More than 400 exhibitors and 1,300 national and international brands
The latest developments in manufacturing and equipment in the aerospace, automotive, energy, chemical and food industries will be showcased on September 26th and 27th at the MetalMadrid trade show in which more than 450 national and international firms will represent an industry that accounts for 16% of Spain’s GDP, according to Ministry of Industry data.
Countries such as Italy, France, the United Kingdom and Portugal will be present through important companies that will showcase their latest innovations during MetalMadrid, including SEAT, Gestamp, John Deere and Siemens, amongst others.
More than 450 national and international companies will represent an industry that accounts for more than 16% of Spain’s GDP.
eShow, the professional eCommerce, Digital Marketing, Hosting & Cloud, Social Media, Mobile and Internet of the Things, E-commerce Exposition and Conference, will bring together the digital community at IFEMA on September 26th and 27th, the ideal setting to share the keys to success for online businesses, innovative strategies in the industry and the latest solutions in technology and services.
With 150 exhibitors, more than 250 nationally and internationally renowned speakers, approximately 400 activities and 4,450 scheduled private meetings, eShow is the meeting point for the industry’s professionals.
Worth noting amongst the new developments this edition is the Networking Platform, an intranet tool designed to connect a large network of professional groups by specific sectors and interests. One of its unique traits is that it enables participants to schedule meetings with visitors, professionals and exhibitors.

Comic and animation fans have a date they can’t afford to miss on September 21st to 23rd in IFEMA’s Hall 12. It’s Heroes Comic Con, a fair celebrating the 25th anniversary of the first Spanish cartoonists who begin working for Marvel, the giant US publisher, and featuring numerous activities and lectures.
In addition, big names from the industry are scheduled to participate, including Chris Conroy from DC Comics and Ian Boothby, the scriptwriter for the Simpsons comic books.
Heroes Comic Con will also include two other key zones: a Kids Area and a Cosplay Area. In the first, children can sign up for drawing and comic workshops as well as thematic spaces dedicated to LEGO® Marvel™ superheroes. Meanwhile, the Cosplay Area has been designed as a space to learn from the best cosplay professionals, offering master classes and even meeting them.
The Kids and Cosplay areas will enliven this fair even further.
After the success of its first edition, Meat Attraction has organised this year’s event which will be held from September 18th to 20th in Hall 4 at IFEMA, positioning itself as the most important trade fair for the meat industry and an effective means to help to internationalise the latter.
Meat Attraction counts on the support of the meat industry, as seen through the Organising Committee which includes the industry’s key associations and organisations as well as leading firms. In addition, all the groups that take part in the production process will be at this key industry event, including abattoirs, butchering firms, processing companies, storage and transport companies, national and international sales companies and distributors. The supply side will also be present, including meat and derivative product producers, processors and distributors as well as meat industry suppliers and retailers.
The fair’s offering is divided into different sectors: meats; derivatives; quality meats and derivatives with ecological, Halal and Kosher certifications; industry suppliers; and meat distribution.
With an aim to boosting its international vocation, Meat Attraction includes participation by a significant number of buyers from select countries abroad who will help to strengthen the Spanish companies’ and their products’ internationalisation in other markets. For this, the fair will organise Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings.
Consolidating itself as the platform to internationalise the Spanish meat industry
The International Urban and Trendy Jewellery and Watch Exhibition Fair is organised by IFEMA and will be held from September 12th to 16th. This fair serves for industry professionals to see all the latest designs and collections focused on the upcoming Christmas and Ephiphany campaigns. The fair will be held in IFEMA’s Hall 9, becoming the main stage for trade within the industry and an excellent opportunity to see where the jewellery industry in our country is heading.
Included amongst the 300 national and international exhibitors taking part are firms such as Pedro Durán, Luxenter Megagold, Almacenes Bustinza and many more recognised companies within their respective sectors. In addition to these well-known brands, the fair also includes small studios and up-and-coming companies in its MINIS area of stands, helping them improve their visibility in this professional setting. This entire offering will be available to all the professionals included within the “National Guest” and international buyer programmes.
In addition, the fair includes a knowledge transferal area, featuring an interesting programme of talks and workshops within its Speaker’s Corner, and will host events such as the recognition awards that Madridjoya grants to those shops attending this event for three years in a row, thanking them for their loyalty.
The biggest stage for trade and to see where our country’s jewellery industry is heading
From September 12th to 16th, the gift and decoration industry will come together at Intergift in one of the most complete editions in recent years, featuring more than 1,000 exhibitors and national and international brands.
Organised by IFEMA, the International Gift and Decoration Fair is one of the industry’s key international events thanks to its complete offering, providing a broad view of the most innovative proposals and trends. In this edition, participants will see collections for the 2018-2019 fall/winter season in time for the crucial Christmas and Epiphany campaigns ahead.
Professionals will also be able to learn about the latest in interior design, accessing the High-end Decoration and Textile areas in halls 3 and 5. Meanwhile, Hall 7 will host the Deco industry and the thematic Neo spaces; Hall 6 will include the Regalomanía Area (“Giftmania”); and Hall 9 will feature the Bazaar with its wide range of items.
In addition to this vast array of exhibits, the fair includes a series of activities to promote networking, including El espacio en obras Area (“Work in Progress”) promoted by the General Council of the Illustrious College of Decorators and Interior Designers. Other noteworthy events are the lectures within the “Speaker’s Corner” and the tribute to sales representatives for their work.

Quality and design are the traits that define Bisutex, the International Fashion Jewellery and Accessories Trade Fair, to be held in Hall 8 at IFEMA in Madrid from September 12th to 16th. Bisutex is the industry’s trade fair of reference in Spain, and this edition will, once more, bring together the largest and most complete offering of innovations from the industry’s leading companies.
Nearly 9,000 metres squared of exhibit space will host the 320 exhibitors and 560 companies and brands, representing an offering which makes this trade fair the industry driver and bond that brings everyone together. This edition is also characterised by its growing international focus, this year featuring group participations from France and Brazil.

The new collections for the 2019 spring/summer season and a selection for the 2018-2019 fall/winter season will be the stars of MOMAD Shoes, the International Footwear and Accessories Trade Salon organised by IFEMA from September 7th to 9th in Madrid, including significant participation by international buyers.
Both leading brands and small, up-and-coming companies will take part in this edition, making for an interesting showcase in which professionals will find everything from sophisticated and elegant models to sport shoes made with the latest technology; sportswear; quality men’s shoes; children’s shoes; and collections made from recycled material applying sustainability principles, all without losing their fashion sense.
Brands such as Vidorreta, Exé, Pons Quintana, Sixty Seven, Chie Mihara, Som.mits, United Nude, Angari, Chika10, Coolway, Cosdam, Alma en Pena, Calzados Marian, Sneaker Business, Mibo and Suelas de Yute are some of the made-in-Spain brands that will participate in this year’s edition.
In addition to its commercial activities, MOMAD Shoes will also feature shows in MOMAD Catwalk, as well as thematic footwear and accessory exhibits. In addition, the trade fair includes the MOMAD Forum, with lectures on the industry’s most interesting topics. Participants and visitors will also be able to enjoy the Summer Terrace, with entertainment, food and music areas.
